Mae Isabelle Maruski, 92, of Cromwell died Sunday, July 11, 2010, in Villa Vista Care Center in Cromwell. Our sympathy goes out to her family. Her memorial service was held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wright. Inurnment will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Wright.

Wally Schulke celebrated his 75th birthday earlier this month with the family coming to visit. Those attending were Mark and Janet Schulke from Duluth, Kim and Ray Kallstrom from Alexandria, granddaughter Amy and her children Landon and Isaac, Lori, Mike and Neil Scheg of Crystal, Minn., and Dave and Mollie Schulke and children Anthony and Emily from Round Rack, Texas.

It’s been a year now since we lost Keith Olson and Gary Hakamaki Jr. It seems that time goes on for all of us, but for the families, grief is a lasting thing.

Don’t forget to vote Aug. 10 for the School Excess Levy and other primary contests. Some have gotten their ballots in the mail, so don’t forget to vote!

The Carlton County Council on Aging will meet July 26 at 9:30 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church in Cloquet, with a guest speaker from Affordable Dentures.

Guest speaker for Aug. 23 will be Alicia Arnold, Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging, who is on staff at Senior LinkAge Line and will present information on “Health Reform and Medicare.” Guest speaker for Sept. 27 will be from the Duluth Lighthouse for the Blind and the guest speaker for Oct. 25 will be Cheryl Blue, consultant from the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Division.

That’s all the news from Lake Humhumhumhumming and Hello to all the folks who are gathering for class reunions. Remember that the All-School Reunion will be held next summer around the weekend after July 4 and the weekend before Wrong Days.
