Marion B. (Danner) Cavanaugh

Marion B. Cavanaugh, 93, of Cloquet, Minn., peacefully passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at Community Memorial Hospital, Cloquet, surrounded by her family. She was born April 14, 1917, in Rock Creek, Minn. She married Harry "Hap" Cavanaugh in Cloquet. Marion retired from Diamond Match Company in Cloquet after 38 years of employment. During those years, she made many good and long lasting friendships. After retirement this group of friends continued to get together regularly to celebrate their birthdays and to just keep in touch. She looked forward to these gatherings and enjoyed them so. You were all so very special to her. What was most obvious to all was that the most important "thing" in her life was not a "thing." She was not a material person. Being surrounded by family was most important to her. She especially loved and enjoyed every minute with her grandchildren. She felt so blessed. The truth is, we, "her family" are the ones who were truly blessed to have her in our lives. Our mother, our grandmother, our friend, our Angel. She is forever in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry "Hap" Cavanaugh; son Terry Cavanaugh; grandsons Daniel and Michael Cavanaugh; her parents; and two sisters and one brother.

She is survived by her sons Michael Cavanaugh and Gerry "Butch" (Diane) Cavanaugh; daughters, Trudy Warren and Kim (Kurt) Schul; daughter-in-law, Carol Cavanaugh; 13 grandchildren, Kirk (Laura) Cavanaugh, Barb (Tom) Van Reese, Brian Warren, Chad (Stephanie) Warren, Lisa (Darrin) Carlson, Pete Warren, Willie Warren (Holli), Don (Heather) Cavanaugh, Pam (Jared) Wehr, Mark (Angie) Cavanaugh, Leah (Jason) Peterson, Honah Schul (River) and Jeff Cavanaugh (Becky); 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank Pastor Morreim, Dr. Leuhr, Dr. Rogers, and all the nurses and staff at Community Memorial Hospital for their past and present care.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 10, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Memorial Service at Nelson Funeral Care, 1004 Cloquet Ave., Cloquet, followed by a luncheon in the fellowship room. Interment services at New Calvary Cemetery will be held at a later date.

The family has selected Nelson Funeral Care of Cloquet, 218-879-3225, to assist them with arrangements. See the online guest book at www.nelsonfuneralcare.net.
