The Women of the ELCA Northeast Minnesota Synod met at UMD June 4-5. There were over 250 women at this convention. Pastor Brandi and I went and McKenzie Smith went as a scholarship participant.
Just found out that the Carlton County Fair will be held Aug. 19-22. I will be looking for volunteers to man the Little Red School House at the fair, so if interested, please call or e-mail me. I will also be calling for volunteers, too.
The first meeting of the Carlton County Retired Educators will be at the Country Inn Restaurant in Cromwell on June 29 at 11:30 a.m., followed by the regular meeting and a presentation by Barb Shilling at the Cromwell-Wright School Media Center around 12:30 p.m. All retired teachers, administrators and staff are welcome to attend and join this group. We only meet twice a year, June and October.
There still are some special graduation programs available at the school for those who didn’t get them at graduation. They include photos of all the graduates and other interesting information on the class of 2010.
The Cromwell Forest Hill Cemetery is looking for board members. Contact Carolyn Krogh at 218-644-3670, Sam Clark at 218-644-3924, Judy Koivisto at 218-644-3752 or Roger Harp at 218-644-3430 for more information. There will be a cemetery meeting in June.
It’s not too early to start planning for Wrong Days in Wright, which will be held July 16-17. Contact Marie Cieluch at 218-644-3535 or Jodi Schatz at 218-357-2911 if you know of someone that wants to run for WD king or queen. Contact Dennis Cieluch at 218-644-3535 if you want a booth, to help in any way, perform at the talent show, etc.
The Cromwell Volunteer Fire Department Blood Drive will be held Monday, June 14, from 2-6 p.m. Contact Ray Lally at 218-644-3739 to sign up.
There will be a special praise service at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Sunday, June 13, at 9 a.m. There will be a praise service on the second Sunday of the month from now on.
There will be open library at the school on Mondays from 9-11 a.m. beginning June 14 and running through Aug. 16. All community members and students are welcome to stop in and enjoy our library resources!
There is a new gift shop coming to Cromwell next door to Peter’s Hardware. Stop in to see what’s going on in the little building with the red door.
Don’t forget to attend the senior dances at the Cromwell Pavilion on the fourth Thursday of the month starting at 1 p.m.
