Mark Anthony Johnson, 42, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away Monday, May 10, 2010. He was born Oct. 19, 1967, in Cloquet to Robert and Louwanna (Johanson) Johnson and graduated from Cloquet High School in 1986. Mark played basketball, ran cross country, was on the track team, and was a member of the National Honor Society in high school. He was a Boy Scout in Troop 172 and a member of the Order of Arrow. Mark worked as cook for St. Luke's food service, Country Kitchen, Blackwood's Restaurant, and Grandma's Restaurant. He was currently working for Chemstar Products in Carlton. Mark loved hunting, fishing, working on cars, and especially helping other people.
Mark was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Wallace Johanson, and his paternal grandparents, Milton and Margaret Johnson.
He is survived by his two children, James R. Johnson and Kjersti M. Johnson of Two Harbors, Minn.; parents, Robert and Louwanna Johnson of Cloquet; brother, Gary (Amy) Johnson of Cloquet; sister, Andrea (Rich Rezanka) Johnson of Grand Rapids, Minn.; maternal grandmother, Lucille Johanson of Cloquet; one niece, Sarah Johnson of Cloquet; and several aunts, uncles.
Visitation will be Friday, May 28, from 3 p.m. until the 5 p.m. Celebration of Life service at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet, followed by a meal in the fellowship room.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to a charity of your choice. The family feels Mark is now at peace.
