Betty. J. Greenly died April 19, 2010, (her mother died on the same day – April 19 – and they were the same age – 86). She was mom to Lonny Gervais, grandmother to Amy, Carrie and Tom, and great-grandmother to Aurora, Cora, Lane and Elin. She will be deeply missed by her entire family.

There is an open house baby shower for Tiffany Bridge and son Julian Alexander Mauzy at Bethany Lutheran in Cromwell on Saturday, May 8, from 2-4 p.m. Tiffany is the daughter of Steve and Mary Bridge.

The Cromwell-Wright Senior Class will be honored with a “Blessing of the Graduates” on Sunday, May 16, at the regular church service at Bethany in Cromwell at the 10:30 a.m. worship service. This is also the last day of regular Sunday school at both Lutheran churches, so try to make it.

Cromwell-Wright graduation is May 28 at 8 p.m. at the high school.

Grandparents Day will be Friday, May 7, from 1:30-3 p.m.

It’s been six years now since my mom, Katharine Dahlman, died April 30, 2004. Where did those years go? But we still get lots of reminders of her, as her artwork seems to pop up in the most unusual places. It is nice to know that folks still keep a little part of her around. My brother Mark even found one of her larger paintings in an antique store on Canal Park a couple of summers ago. He bought it and it hangs on his dining room wall, so we never know where her work will show up. It’s kind of like getting a message from her that all is well.

Last minute reminders: There is a pancake breakfast at St. John’s Lutheran on Saturday, May 8, from 8 a.m. to noon, and the Mother-Daughter Tea will be held at Bethlehem at 12:30 p.m., also on May 8.

The Friends of Animals Rummage sale was a huge success and the remaining merchandise went to the Area Clothing Depot, so look for lots of nice new items in the coming weeks.

That’s all the news from Lake Happy Mother’s Day and Hello to all the parents planning grad parties this year.
