Mike Scholtz of Wrenshall took first prize in the fifth annual Short Shorts Film Festival at the Play Ground. Scholtz, who is involved with the Free Range Film Festival, won $250 for his less-than-five-minute documentary “To Moscow With Love.”
The silent comedy “Bus Stop” by Emily Annlouise Minor of Superior took second and Cliff Langley of Duluth was third with his adventure mockumentary “Long Cold Winter, Eh?”
There were 18 films featured in the festival, and winners were selected by the audience.
Next year’s event is Feb. 19.
