Polar League names girls basketball All-Conference players

The 2010 Polar League All-Conference team was chosen this week and it includes numerous basketball players from Carlton County.

Barnum’s Katrina Newman was named most valuable player. Jessica Newman and Sarah Myhre, both of Barnum were named to the First Team, as was Keely Deadrick of Esko. Leah Nordvall of Barnum, Amanda Bergstedt of Esko and Natasha Dragicevich of Moose Lake were named to the Second Team.

Those named as honorable mention from Carlton County include Ari Korpela of Cromwell, Katie Myhre of Barnum, Sarah Aili of Carlton, Savanna Trapp and Lydia Pelletier of Esko, Maddy Adamczak of Moose Lake and Maria Burcar of Wrenshall.

The Lake Superior Conference recently selected the following Cloquet basketball players to the girls All-Conference team: Annabel Morrisroe, a junior at Cloquet High School, was chosen for the First Team, while seniors Brianna Henagin and Katie Pappas were selected as honorable mention.
