Fire forces Carlton County man from home

A Carlton County man evacuated his home on County Road 7 in rural Mahtowa after a fire at about 2 a.m. this morning.

A Carlton County man evacuated his home on County Road 7 in rural Mahtowa after a fire at about 2 a.m. this morning.

The Red Cross provided the man with temporary lodging, said Tony Guerra of the Red Cross.

“That is all that he wanted,” said Guerra, who couldn’t provide any more detail.

The Mahtowa Fire Department responded to the fire.
