Snow ordinances in effect in Cloquet, Scanlon

Snow ordinances for Cloquet and Scanlon went into effect Nov. 1 and so far Cloquet Police have been handing out plenty of warnings to motorists, according to Deputy Chief Terry Hill.

In Cloquet, parking on city streets is prohibited from 3-6 a.m. Nov. 1 through March 31.

In Scanlon, parking is prohibited from 1-6 a.m. from Nov. 1 through March 31, except in cases of undue hardship. Any person claiming an undue hardship is required to apply to the Scanlon City Council in advance for exemption and any exemption granted must be made in writing.

Vehicles found in violation may be ticketed or towed.

Hill encouraged residents to make note of the different hours in each city.
