Her parents are Joe and Loretta Beisel of Ocean City, N.J. His parents are Kathy and Steve Jarvi of Carlton, Minn., and Roy Ackerson of Superior, Wis.
The future bride, a 1999 graduate of Holy Spirit High School, graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and communications. She then served with the Peace Corps, assigned in Mongolia where she taught English from 2004-2006. She earned her master’s degree in Organization Development and Knowledge Management from George Mason University in Arlington, Va., in 2009. She is a senior program associate for the Academy for Educational Development in Washington D.C.
The future groom, a 1998 graduate of Superior Senior High School, graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in political science and English literature. He then went on to serve with the Peace Corps, assigned in Mongolia from 2004-2006 where he taught English and coordinated construction of the first library in town. He earned his master’s degree in International Development at American University School of International Service in Washington D.C. He is employed with the U.S. Department of State as Course Coordinator with the Stability Operations Training Division in Washington D.C.
