A family of five lost their Brookston home to fire this morning.
The blaze at 8919 U.S. Highway 2, claimed the Donald and Carol Wuollet residence.
The Wuollets were not home when the fire began. They had been celebrating the fifth birthday of their son, Wyatt, in Duluth.
Kyle Wuollet, the couple’s 18-year-old son, returned home at about 7 a.m. Tuesday to find the home filled with smoke. He called for fire assistance, but the home was already being consumed by flames when firefighters arrived.
The house was a total loss, but firefighters were able to spare a neighboring garage on the property. No cause has yet been determined.
Firefighters from Culver, West Brevator, East Brevator, Grand Lake and Industrial Townships responded to the call.
