The following are some of the court cases heard July 20-24, 2009, in Carlton County Court:
Daniel George Diver, 22, of Cloquet – misdemeanor tampering with motor vehicle/enter without owner permission, and misdemeanor 5th degree assault: 90 days local confinement stayed 90 days for 2 years, fined $480, charges to run concurrently.
Ryan Eric Wise, 19, of Cloquet – gross misdemeanor obstruct legal process: 1 year local confinement stayed 11 months 4 days for 2 years, fined $480, may do Sentence-to-Serve, 2 years supervised probation, take medications in the prescribed dosage and frequency, follow recommendations of evaluation, chemical use assessment and follow recommendations including aftercare, complete treatment, no alcohol/controlled substance use, no possession of alcohol or drugs, random testing, AA or NA, make and keep appointments with mental health professional, obtain GED/pursue GED or employment; – petty misdemeanor possess/sale small amount of marijuana-no remuneration: 10 days local confinement, fined $180, charges to run concurrently.
Eric John Baublitz, 23, of Esko – misdemeanor taking northern pike in closed season: fined $130.
Randy David Denton, 56, of Barnum – misdemeanor seatbelt violation in a commercial vehicle: fined $105.
Davon Lamar Grayson, 29, of W. St. Paul, Minn. – misdemeanor driver must carry proof of insurance when operating vehicle: 30 days local confinement stayed 29 days for 1 year: fined $280, no driver license violations, no driving without insurance, remain law-abiding.
Donald Dale Downs, 58, of Duluth, Minn. – misdemeanor disorderly conduct: 30 days local confinement stayed 30 days for 1 year, fiend $380, pay restitution and provide proof of payment to state.
Donald Edward Christian, 62, of Cloquet – misdemeanor operating ATV on road without valid driver’s license: fined $130.
Kelly Jay Butcher, 57, of Wright – petty misdemeanor breakaway brake inoperative and petty misdemeanor radar detector in commercial vehicle: fined $380.
Michael Randy Graf, 43, of North Branch, Minn. – misdemeanor open bottle: fined $180.
Jason Gregory Cook, 20, of Esko – misdemeanor domestic assault and misdemeanor 4th degree damage to property: adjudication withheld, 2 years supervised probation, psychological evaluation/treatment, no alcohol use, no alcohol/controlled substance use, no possession of alcohol or drugs, random testing, counseling, no violence to person or property, remain law-abiding, fined $300, charges to run concurrently.
Wanez Bou Desjarlait, 32, of Cloquet – gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation-inimical to public safety: 1 year local confinement stayed 1 year for 2 years, fined $980.
Tommy Michael Granquist, 47, of Duluth – misdemeanor driving after revocation: 90 days local confinement stayed 88 days for 1 year, fined $380, no driver license violations, no driving without insurance, no registration violation.
