Rosa Linda Miyares and Gerard Ahern, both of Laurel, Md., announce they were united in marriage on Saturday, May 9, 2009, in Palm Harbor, Fla.
Parents of the couple are Jeannie and Thomas Kermeen of Cloquet, Minn., and Ray and Therese of Christchurch, New Zealand.
The new bride is a 1999 graduate of Cloquet High School and a 2003 graduate of Macalester College. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in cellular, molecular and developmental biology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md.
The groom is a biology professor and researcher at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
Following a honeymoon trip to Barcelona, Spain, the couple now resides in Laurel, Md.
