The Cloquet-Esko-Carlton boys tennis team had an excellent season, using some solid depth and fine play from the entire lineup to finish second in the Lake Superior Conference. Senior Colton Roy played the No. 1 singles position all season. Dylan Burslie, John Scheuer and Luke Heine also saw extensive time in singles for the ‘Jacks this spring.
Cloquet fell 6-1 to defending conference champion Marshall in the finals, with Roy winning at No. 1 singles. Nathan Blascyk and Chase Pritchett held down the No. 1 doubles position into the section playoffs. Ryan Kedrowski and Niko Michelson played No. 2 team doubles while the third doubles team to make it to the playoffs was Sean Kedrowski and Tanner Webster.
Season highlights included a 5-2 match win over Hermantown and a 7-0 whitewash of Duluth Denfeld that saw all C-E-C players and teams win in straight sets.
