The Class of 1944 met at Applebee’s on June 9 at noon with four attending, including Elroy (Eino) Heikkila, Mildred Hedin Hakamaki, Shirley Walli and Zula Belle Kingsley Matalamaki.

The Class of 1944 met at Applebee’s on June 9 at noon with four attending, including Elroy (Eino) Heikkila, Mildred Hedin Hakamaki, Shirley Walli and Zula Belle Kingsley Matalamaki. Art Maki was missing. This is all that is left of the Cromwell graduating class of 1944. The others have passed away. It was known as the smallest grad class of Cromwell with only 13 members.

The 8th Annual Spelling Bee was held at Villa Vista Wednesday, June 12, with nine residents taking part. This year’s first place winner was Esther Gauthier, second was Carol Erlandson and third place was Gladys Clark.

The Harvest Fest Steak Fry will be held June 19 from 4:30-7 p.m. Cost is $10. Also, the Harvest Fest Committee is sponsoring a Clean-up Day for the residents of Cromwell. Cost is free excluding electronics, which will be charged $5. It will be held in the parking lot of the Cromwell Medical Clinic on June 20 from 8 a.m. to noon. Don’t forget to attend Betty Johnson’s memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wright. A visitation will start at 1 p.m. Betty died Sept. 28, 2008.

The next senior dance at the Pavilion in Cromwell is June 25 with Jerry’s One Man Band playing from 1-4 p.m.
