A Cloquet teen girl was injured this morning in a three vehicle accident in Midway Township, according to a news release from the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.
A man driving a single axle dual wheel cargo truck southbound on Midway Road rear-ended the teen's vehicle as she waited to turn left onto Stark Road at about 7:45 a.m. The impact of the collision forced her car into the oncoming lane of traffic where it was struck by a man who was driving a northbound in a pickup truck and unable to stop.
The teen-ager was taken to St. Mary's Hospital and although the extent of her injuries were unknown as of Tuesday afternoon, none were believed to be life-threatening.
Both male drivers sustained minor injuries and were treated and released at the scene. All reportedly were wearing seat belts.
The accident remains under investigation. Assisting agencies included the Midway Fire Department, St. Louis County Rescue Squad, Gold Cross Ambulance, Minnesota State Patrol, Hermantown Police and Proctor Police.
