Marie Gilberta Gloria (LeBlanc) Morse, 85, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away Friday, May 1, 2009.
Marie Gilberta Gloria (LeBlanc) Morse, 85, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away Friday, May 1, 2009. She was born March 2, 1924, in Detroit, Mich., to Gilbert and Agnes (McClellan) LeBlanc. Marie served with the WAVE in the United States Navy during World War II. She was a teacher's aid for the Cloquet Public Schools for many years and a volunteer Foster Grandparent for Churchill Elementary School. Marie was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and enjoyed politics, current events, playing bridge, and the Minnesota Vikings.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Corbin "Dale" Morse; and one son, Gordon Morse.
She is survived by her children, Terry (Jim) Korhonen of Bemidji, Jill (Dennis) Schelonka of Cloquet, Doug (Carla) Morse of Eden Prairie, Jan (Kevin) Loisel of Bemidji, Gregg (Toni) Morse of Cloquet, and Mariane Morse of England; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 6, from noon until the 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Cloquet. Private family inurnment services will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery with full military honors presented by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard. A time of fellowship will follow in the church social hall.
