Minnesota State Colleges and Universities and the Minnesota State College Faculty tentatively agreed Wednesday to halt salary and annual step increases for the next two years.
The faculty union represents more than 4,400 members at colleges including Lake Superior College and Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College. Its board will review the agreement and make a recommendation, which the union must approve. The current contract won’t expire until June 30, and will remain the same if the agreement is approved.
Chancellor James H. McCormick also recommended Wednesday that the 570 administrators throughout the system receive no salary or step increases the next two years. The board of trustees is expected to act on that in May.
