Body found in Wrenshall Township
At approximately 5 p.m. Sunday, a man fishing near the Nemadji River in Wrenshall Township found the body of an adult male, according to the Carlton County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff’s officers, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources conservation officers and the Carlton Ambulance responded to the site.

The man’s identity and cause of death reportedly remained unknown as of Wednesday afternoon.
“We still have nothing that would indicate foul play,” Carlton County Sheriff Kelly Lake said. “The body had been in the water longer than a few days, however, and identification may take weeks.”
The investigation is ongoing.
