A Duluth man has been charged in Carlton County after allegedly exposing himself to young boys in Barnum and Moose Lake, as well as other cities across the Northland.
Nicholas John Reising, 37, has been charged with felony-level criminal sexual conduct in the fifth degree and two gross misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure.
On April 20, the Carlton County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a man trying to expose himself to juvenile boys near Barnum Elementary School. Hours later, Moose Lake police received a report of a man who asked two juvenile boys to approach his car, then exposed his genitals to them.
"We didn't have too much to go on at that time," said Carlton County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Rick Lake.
On June 10, however, Lake talked with investigators from the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office after learning they had received similar complaints of a man exposing himself in Mountain Iron, Hibbing and Chisholm. Comparing notes led authorities to Reising.
During an interview with Lake, Reising admitted to the crimes, Lake said.
