Local coalition holds celebration event at Cloquet’s Southgate Bowl

On Sunday, June 1, the Carlton County Citizens for Smoke-free Environments will gather to commemorate the One Year Anniversary of our local smoke-free law. A family friendly event featuring smoke-free bowling will ensue beginning at 4 p.m. At 5 p.m., a short time of recognition for local efforts will occur. Local decision-makers and all coalition members and their families have been invited. The event will conclude at 6 p.m.

Carlton County is committed to protecting citizens from the dangers of secondhand smoke. On June 1, 2007, all public places and work sites became smoke-free. This includes areas within 25 feet of entrances, open windows or ventilation intakes. In outdoor restaurants or bars, no more than 50 percent of seating may be designated as a smoking area. Carlton County’s ordinance does not have exemptions for theatrical performances.

Please join us to celebrate this historic event.
