Esko to host elite boys basketball camp

Local youth basketball players will once again have an opportunity to participate in one of the top basketball camps in northern Minnesota.

Local youth basketball players will once again have an opportunity to participate in one of the top basketball camps in northern Minnesota. Esko will host the Esko Boys Basketball Camp from June 16-18 for boys grades 3-8.

Camp participants will receive instruction from the head coach at Esko High School, Mike Devney, along with assistant coaches Steve Stojevich, Tim Lindquist and Scott Antonnuti as well as former Esko players.

Registration forms are available by calling Devney at 218-624-5196 or by stopping by Esko High School. Registrations must be mailed in by Friday, May 23.

Each day the camp will start at 9:15 a.m. at Esko High School, which features one of the premier basketball facilities in northern Minnesota. Throughout the day, fundamentals including shooting, playing the post position, playing the perimeter, screening and transitioning will be taught. The day will end with league games starting at about 3 p.m. The Esko facility has four regulation size basketball courts, 16 baskets, a modern fully-equipped weight room and fitness center.
