The County Seat Theater Company presents "Farce of Habit," a comedy that takes audiences to the Reel 'Em Inn, the finest little fishing lodge in the Ozarks, on April 6-8 and 12-15 at the Encore Performing Arts Center in Cloquet.

In "Farce of Habit," the proprietor, D. Gene Wilburn (Peter), is looking forward to a peaceful weekend on the lake. But there are only two chances of that happening: slim and none. Why, for example, has his wife, Wanelle (Rieck), picked these three days to white-knuckle her way through caffeine withdrawal? Why is his son Ty's (Biskey) marriage to Jenna (Gibson) falling apart so fast? How on earth would D. Gene's feisty sister, Maxie (Weckert), allow herself to get caught up in such a bizarre undercover police assignment?

And that's just his family.

The play features three new actors to the CST stage: Cassandra Gibson, Shey Peterson and Randy Sorenson. They will be joined by Ken Peter, Kay Rieck, Deb Weckert, Sean Biskey, Brian Lokken and Cathie Anderson.

"I have been blessed to work with a talented and fun cast and crew. It has been a joy," Director Larry Anderson said. "For me, the theater is and always has been a means toward pulling out the creative side of me. Regardless of the job, working with a theater company is rewarding. There is nothing quite like the feeling of bringing a story to life on the stage."

Each performance starts at 7 p.m. except the Sunday matinees, which begin at 2 p.m. The April 15 show is sold out.

The theater has some "pay-as-you-may" tickets available for each Saturday performance. Tickets can be reserved by calling the box office at 218-878-0071 or visiting

The Encore Performing Arts Center is located at 2035 Highway 33 South, on Frontage Road.
