Grab your lawn chair or blanket and head to Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College in Cloquet on Thursday, July 19 for the 20th annual Free Summer Concert Series.

The family friendly event kicks off with Tim Houlihan at 7 p.m. at the outdoor-indoor amphitheater. Houlihan has performed across the United States as well as Europe. Houlihan's style is described as neo-folk, Americana, rock and acoustic.

The Minneapolis residents songs are carved from real life with articulate enthusiasm, strong grooves and sophisticated playing, according to his Facebook description.

According to the FDLTCC website, the college started getting calls about the concert around mid May. Callers told Tom Urbanski, director of public information at FDLTCC, how much they enjoy the summer concerts.

"That's great feedback," Urbanski said. "It's always fun and different music each week and we carefully select high-quality performers who you don't often hear or see in our area. People have said our concerts are like attending a mini-festival every Thursday evening in Cloquet."

No time to fix dinner before the concert? No problem. Members of the new CEC Mountain Bike team will be grilling and selling hamburgers and hot dogs from the B&B Market wagon as a fundraiser for their team activities beginning at 6:15 p.m.

Other performers this summer include, Lehto & Wright, Rock-a-Billy Revue and Laura Lou DuSchane.

The series is every Thursday for four weeks, as well as one Monday evening performance by the Cloquet Community Band on Aug. 6 at 7 p.m.
