Visit Moose Lake to enjoy an early July Fourth celebration kickoff when the band "Hot Damn" heats things up from 7-10 p.m. Saturday, July 1, at Riverside Arena. The next day, revelers are invited to enjoy a grand breakfast at Holy Angels Church from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday.
The southern Carlton County town will continue with its traditional July Fourth celebration lineup of events, including food, a kiddy parade, music, bingo and of course ending the holiday with a bang during the fireworks in the park. After taking several years off, the popular military flyover will appear again this year before the July Fourth parade at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
But that's not all.
Begin the week cheering and clapping for the kids 10 years old and younger participating in the kiddie parade at 10 a.m. Monday morning. The fun mini-parade lines up at H&R Block and generally draws close to 100 kids each year. Start the morning from 7-9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 4, with pancakes in the park, sponsored by the Moose Lake Covenant Church at the City Park Pavilion to benefit a Haiti mission trip.
Next will be the "Unity" parade at 10 a.m., followed by a lunch of sloppy joes, ice cream and pie from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church. The Grand Marshals for the parade will be Jeff and Deanna Vichorek.
Family friendly fun continues the rest of the Fourth of July with free games, the Wizard's Kingdom, family picnics, swimming and live music at the Moose Lake City Park from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The Audubon Center will present the Northwoods Bird Show between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. For BINGO enthusiasts, games will be held from 1-10 p.m. by the American Legion at the city park.
Head over to the Moose Lake City Park at dusk (about 10 p.m.) for the colorful fireworks display to celebrate the end of another July Fourth celebration.
The fun continues the following weekend with "Tony Don Tracy" and special guest, the "Fractals," from 8:30 p.m. to midnight Friday, July 7, and Aftershock from 8:30 p.m. to midnight Saturday, July 8, at the Moose Lake Municipal.
