The school year is quickly winding down now. With that in mind, I’d like to thank all our school staff for another successful year and especially those teachers and staff who may be retiring this year.
“Bergie’s bon voyage” for Keith Bergstedt will take place on Friday, May 30, at 4:45 p.m. at the Buffalo House, 2590 TownshipRoad 5494, Duluth. Food and drinks are available to purchase via menu. All are welcome! An envelope is available in the school main office for anyone wishing to contribute to a “bon voyage” gift. Please drop off contributions by May 23. Let’s send Keith off with a gathering of great “Bergie” stories and good cheer!
Jay and Theresa French of Wright are pleased to announce the marriage of their son Alex to Andrea Malmberg. Andrea is the daughter of Scott and Deb Malmberg of St. Cloud. The April 26 ceremony was held at Whitefish Lodge in Cross Lake, Minn. Casey Stenson, son of Dave and Becky Stenson, also of Wright, was the officiant. The newlyweds are at home in Elk Horn, Neb.
Please join us in honoring the Class of 2014 on Sunday, May 11, at Bethany Lutheran Church at 10:30 a.m. We invite all graduating seniors and their families to attend church that day, be honored by the congregation, and take part in a short blessing before you go out into the world after graduation. A potluck salad luncheon will be served following the service.
A big thank you goes out to the folks who helped and participated in the Annual Bethany Lutheran Rummage that was held on May 1. Proceeds from this sale are used to send area youth to Bible camp this summer.
The Bethlehem Lutheran Women’s Annual Mother Daughter Tea and Luncheon will be on Saturday, May 10, at 1:30 p.m. All area women and girls are encouraged to attend. Feel free to bring guests.
The Women of Bethlehem are planning a Bake and Rummage Sale the weekend of May 30-31, so you can start saving items for the sale. Items can be brought to church the week before the sale. Volunteers are needed; let Diane Anderson know if you can help.
The Senior Award Banquet will be Thursday, May 15. The meal begins at 5:30 p.m., with presentations at 6 pm. This event is sponsored by the student council. Each senior, parent, or guardian will eat free. Extra guests will be charged a small fee, determined by the student council.
Swimming lessons will be held Monday through Friday, June 16-27, at the Wrenshall Pool. Transportation will again be provided by the District. Registration information will be sent home in early May and the cost will again be $34 per child. Watch the Bus Bulletin for more details.
