Everyone is invited to a 50th wedding anniversary get-together at Bethany Lutheran Church on Sunday, April 13, from noon to 2 p.m. for Julie Ann and Laird Hansen. Worship starts at 10:30 a.m. so come for church and stay for the anniversary. Pastor Scott Jacobs will lead worship at both Bethlehem at 9 a.m. and at Bethany. Pastor Vicky Taylor will be with these churches on Easter Sunday. An interim pastor has not been found yet for these churches.
Just a reminder that there will be no school April 14-18 due to Spring Break!
If you have a child who will be 5 on or before Sept. 1, come to Kindergarten Round Up on Wednesday, April 9, from 8:30-10 a.m. at the school. Information has been sent home. If you or someone you know did not receive the packet, please contact the school to make sure your family is added to the round up list by calling 218-644-3737 and talk to a secretary.
The Junior Class will host an Elementary Dance/Carnival for first- through sixth-grade students on Friday, May 11, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. The cost is $5 per student. The final tallies are in for the 2014 Food Drive! The Cromwell-Wright students and staff donated a total of 1,245 items (or 885 pounds of food) and $1,026 to the Tri-Community Food Shelf. All donations will benefit our local community. We are fortunate to be surrounded by heroes! Thank you for your generosity!
April and May will be MCA testing for students in grades 3-11. Some of the tests will be administered online and some will be paper/pencil. Testing will begin after Spring Break, as there is a testing window set by the state. Grades 3-8 will be tested in both math and reading. Grades 5, 8 and 10 will be tested in science. Grade 10 will be taking reading. Grade 11 will be taking math. There is no writing test for Grade 9 this year. Some practice tests can be found at www.mnstateassessments.org under “Students/Families.” For specific dates and times, contact your student’s teacher.
Driver’s education will be offered through Cromwell-Wright Community Education June 10-23. Please note this is a Tuesday through Monday, 10 sessions running from 8-11:30 a.m. Sign up in the main office. If you need further information, feel free to call 644-3737, ext. 2146.

The Firearm Safety Classes are coming soon! Please stay tuned for more information for classes at Cromwell-Wright School sometime in April, after spring break. There is a sign-up sheet in the school office for those interested. Students must be at least 12 by Sept. 1, 2014, to take the class. Pat Messer will be the instructor.
