With the thoughts of spring and summer on our minds, I went to the NHRA website to look up the racing schedule for this season. The races take place every other week during the summer and have already started. The next races will be the 45th Annual Amalie Oil NHRA Gatornationals on March 13-16 at Gainesville (PSM) and then the 15th Annual SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals on March 28-30 in Las Vegas.
We have a good reason to follow this sport as we have a local man racing in these events. He is Jason Line, born on July 24, 1969. His hometown is Wright and his car sponsor is Summit Racing Equipment Chevy Camaro. In 2013 Jason finished third in the Mello Yello Series points standings. He raced to victories at Houston and Dallas and posted No. 1 qualifying positions at Charlotte 2 and Reading.
If this is of interest to you, you can get a complete race schedule by going to the NHRA website.
