From what I was able to observe and attend, the Annual Harvest Fest was a huge success. Our thanks to Deb Switzer and Cherie Nyberg for taking on the leadership task and for all the many volunteers who made this event possible.

Fall yoga began at the Cromwell Pavilion on Sept. 3 and continues every Tuesday from 5-6 p.m. Yoga works on developing strength and flexibility, a good workout but not aerobic or high impact. Cost is $5 a session, seniors and students under 18 are free. Proceeds go 50 percent to the city for rental and 50 percent for covering the costs of yoga gear. If you are new to the group, please come 15 minutes early. If you have questions about the yoga, call Ann Markusen at 218-644-3516 (home) or 218-428-3300 (cell).

The Tamarack Presbyterian Church will hold their Annual All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti Dinner and Salad Bar on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 5-8 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

The Tri-Community Food Shelf is looking for garden produce this month and next. Please bring any produce you have to share to the Food Shelf in the Old Trolley Building in Cromwell on Fridays from 3-5 p.m. Do not drop them off at other times, as the food will spoil in the sun.

Sunday school at Bethany in Cromwell will resume on Sept. 15 with a Hawaiian theme and will start at Bethlehem in Wright on Sept. 22 at 9 a.m. All area families are encouraged to come to church and Sunday school.

Confirmation will start at Bethany on Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 3:30-5 p.m., followed by a parents meeting at 5 p.m. All area youth in grades seven and eight are encouraged to attend as well as any other students who haven't been confirmed.

Quilting resumed at Bethlehem on Sept. 10 and will be at held from 9 a.m. to noon every Tuesday at the church and at Bethany on Sept. 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. No experience is necessary.

A special meeting will be held on Sept. 24 for the Farmer's Co-operative Store at the Wright Senior Center at 6:30 p.m. There will also be an update on the financial picture by the Co-op's accountant, Hugh Henike. He will also go through state statutes allowing the number of board members to be changed.
