Work together to explore consolidation
To the Editor:
As a third generation Carlton Bulldog (with my children being the fourth), I have much school pride and do all that I am able to assist in making Carlton a wonderful educational experience for the children in our community. I have recently started attending Carlton and Wrenshall Schools (CAWS) meetings with other community members who are interested in exploring the consolidation of the two districts. I have been able to be a part of some lively yet respectful conversations with people who have many differing opinions. I am encouraging each of you to talk to your family, friends and neighbors. Share your thoughts, talk to your school boards, voice your opinion and be open to hearing all the information. I have no doubt we are all doing what we feel is in the best interest of our children, we may just differ on what that looks like and how to go about doing it.
Our next CAWS meeting will be held on Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. at the old Cozy Restaurant in Carlton. All are welcome to attend. Let’s work together and set a good example for the children in our communities!
