Wilderness player Mike Dietrich named 'player of the year' by league
The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Mike Dietrich of the Minnesota Wilderness has been named Pizza Hut Player of the Year, an award equivalent to a "most valuable player" award.
The 20-year-old native of South Hampton, N.J., earned the accolades over fellow nominees Jordan Christianson of the Fort Frances Lakers and Chris Belhumeur of the Dryden Ice Dogs in voting done by each of the SIJHL's member clubs.
