Basic Computer Training Seniors are inivted to a free session to learn computer basics, Internet searching and accessing websites of interest to seniors. This class is designed for those who have little or no computer experience. “Senior Surf Day” will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, at the Rainbow Senior Center, 211 N. Carlton Area Senior Citizens The Carlton Area Senior Citizens meets on the last Tuesday of the month (July 29) at 1 p.m. at Pine View Apartments in Carlton. New members are welcome. Call John Ciesielski at 218-878-4792 with questions.
Cloquet Senior Center The Cloquet Senior Center is open to all area seniors with the following activities: Monday through Thursday — Pool; Tuesday — 500 and Hand and Foot; Thursday — Cribbage and Duplicate Bridge. Most activities are scheduled from 12:30-4 p.m. with the exception of pool, which is available all day. Center hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Dial-a-Ride is available. Lunch is served by AEOA at 11:30 a.m. The center is available to rent; call Cloquet City Hall for details. A general meeting of the Senior Citizens Club is held on the fourth Tuesday of the month (July 22) at 10 a.m.
Cloquet Senior Citizens Dances The Cloquet Senior Citizens dances are held from 1-4 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday of the month (July 16,
Aug. 6) at the Cloquet VFW. Music is provided by Lorren Lindevig and his orchestra. Everyone is welcome.

Cromwell Y.O.T. Dances The Young Old Timers host monthly dances from 1-4 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of the month (July 24) at the Cromwell Park Pavilion. Music will be provided by “Jerry’s One-Man Band.” You may “BYOB” — set-ups, ice and water are provided.

Memory Loss Support Groups Are you caring for someone with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia? The Memory Loss Support Group offers a time of education and peer support for family caregivers. Groups meet on the third Thursday of the month (July 17) from 10-11:30 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Moose Lake (call Gerene at 310-6807), or from 1-2:30 p.m. at the Cloquet Public Library (call Candi at 218-348-5668).
Preparing for the Journey Ahead This educational program of information and inspiration is available for individuals dealing with the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease or memory disorder. The group meets on the third Thursday of the month (July 17) from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Proctor Community Center. Preregistration is required; call 218-733-2560. There is no charge to attend.
Retired Men’s Group This group meets at noon on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month (July 23, Aug. 13) at the Cloquet VFW, with a different guest speaker each time. All area retired men are invited to attend, and bring a friend!
