As we moved through the long and near record-breaking winter, we may have wondered if summer would ever come. But here we are at the summer solstice, the first day of summer. It is also the time of greatest sunlight: a sunrise shortly after 5 a.m. and nearly 16 hours later, a sunset a few minutes after 9 p.m.
