Marguerite 'Peggy' Ann Johnson
Marguerite "Peggy" Ann Johnson, 76, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014, in her home. She was born in 1938 in Cloquet to Joseph and Esther Blair. Peggy graduated from Cloquet High School in 1956. On July 6, 1957, she married James W. Johnson. They made their home in Cloquet and together raised three children.
Peggy owned and operated the Big Lake Store from 1983 until 1991. She worked as a cashier at Wal-Mart for 12 years, retiring in 2012. Peggy enjoyed sewing and knitting. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.
Peggy is survived by her husband, James W. Johnson; two sons, Scott (Sue) of Esko, Minn., and Jason (Tracy Hansen) of Cloquet; daughter, Jody (Craig) Larson of Bemidji, Minn.; three sisters, Patricia (Morris) Foster of McGregor, Minn., Faye Marciniak of Cloquet and Sandy Blair of Cloquet; two grandchildren, Austin Johnson and Caitlin (Jarrett) Siems; and two great-grandchildren, Eli and Avery Siems.
Visitation: Sunday, Aug. 3, from 5-7 p.m. in Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet, and Monday, Aug. 4, from noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service, also in the funeral home, with burial in New Calvary Cemetery. A time of lunch and fellowship followed in the Fireside Room of the funeral home.
