Lloyd Andrew Shabaiash

Lloyd Andrew Shabaiash, "Nazhikewigaabaw," 56, of Hinckley, Minn., began his spiritual journey on Sunday, March 16, 2014, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, Minn. He entered this world in Sandstone, Minn., on Sept. 8, 1957, the son of Joseph and Delphine (Benjamin) Shabaiash.

Lloyd loved being with children, spending time with his girls and his grandchildren. He was quite a joker who always had a funny comeback for everything. Lloyd really enjoyed watching his old movies which mainly included westerns like Billy Jack, Bonanza and John Wayne films. He liked to listen to country music and some of his favorites were Patty Lovelace, Leanne Rhymes, and Shania Twain.

Family that Lloyd joins are his parents, Joseph and Delphine, and two of his brothers, David and Dennis.

Those left behind to miss his spirit are his daughters, Sandra (Lon) and Sonya; brothers, Joe of Sawyer, Minn., Daniel (Pam) of Cloquet, Minn., Rodney of Sawyer, Les of Pine City, Minn., Roy of Hinckley, Donald of Cloquet, and Delbert (Billie Jo) of Sawyer; sisters, Linda of Cloquet, Lois of Sawyer, Rosalie (Neil) of St. Paul, Minn., and Ruth (Bill) of St. Paul; grandchildren, Dakotah, Jacob, Javier, Guadalupe and Graciella; his very close and longtime friend, Paul Diver; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Wake: Wednesday, March 19, from 4 p.m. until the 10 a.m. service on Thursday, March 20, all held at the Fond du Lac Head Start Gym. Spiritual leader is Lee Staples. Pallbearers are Brain "Muck" Shabaiash, Keith Diver Sr., Darrell "Deebo" Shabaiash, Paul Diver, Craig Shabaiash, Delbert "Lil Del" Shabaiash, and Dereck Ray Diver. Interment will be in Sts. Mary and Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Sawyer.
