Lino John Marana

Lino John Marana, 95, of Wrenshall, Minn., passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014, at his home. He was born Dec. 8, 1918, on the family farm in Nickerson, Minn., to Peter and Carolina (Scarmona) Marana. Lino worked as a farmer until he built and owned the Club 23 Bar in Holyoke, Minn., from 1948-1976. He also worked at Potlatch in Cloquet, Minn. Lino's activities included playing on bowling and pool leagues, and traveling. Lino especially loved to play cards and, until his death, he played "Texas Hold'em" six days a week. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran in Wrenshall where he had served as usher and trustee.

Lino was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; and two brothers, Carl and Gino Marana.

He is survived by his children, Pat (Richard) Horner and Ron Puckett; one sister, Ida (Fred) Clements; five grandchildren, Bryan, Robyn, Angela, Amy and Todd; five great-grandchildren; and many friends.

Visitation: Tuesday April 1, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wrenshall, followed by a luncheon in the church social hall.
