Kenneth P. Anderson, 85, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014, at Community Memorial Hospital, Cloquet, after a long pulmonary illness. He was born on April 8, 1929, in Cloquet to Marshall and Blanche (LeBrasseur) Anderson. He attended and graduated from Cloquet High School. Kenny married his love, Patricia Brown, on April 15, 1950, in Cloquet and they have been together for over 64 years. He worked for 19 years at Weyerhauser and retired from Midwest Energy after 13 years of service. He was also active in the National Guard for several years, served as Scanlon Fire Chief, head usher of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Kenny and Pat enjoyed their many years of vacationing together. Kenny loved assembling puzzles, watching sports, especially baseball and football, and spending time with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kenny is the last surviving member of the Anderson clan.
Kenny's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Community Memorial Hospital nurses and doctors for their wonderful care and compassion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, and one great-granddaughter.
Kenny is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia; children, Cheryl Anderson Taylor of Apple Valley, Minn., Cindy (Mike) Lyes and Coleen (David) Carlson both of Cloquet; 10 grandchildren, Terence, Traci, Travis, Carrie, Andy, Sara, Jenn, Jess, Eric and Crystal; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, June 18, from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. memorial service, with the Knights of Columbus leading the rosary at 1:30 p.m. in Handevidt Funeral Home, Cloquet.
