Henry 'Hank' Elwood Johnson

Henry "Hank" Elwood Johnson, 70, of Carlton, Minn., and Vilonia, Ark., passed away Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014. He was born April 14, 1944, in Hibbing, Minn. Hank served in the U.S. Army and worked for the Minnesota Department of Transportation in Duluth and foreman in Carlton. He was the Wrenshall Volunteer Fire Department chief for 14 years; charter commander and life member of AMVETS Post 28 in Carlton, serving as State and District Commander; life member of American Legion; and a member of the Moose Lodge.

Hank is survived by his wife, JoAnn; children, Brian, Tammy and Jim; step-children, Rocky and Lori; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Monday, Aug. 25, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet.
