Once it started, the snow didn't take long to pick up speed and it's not predicted to stop anytime soon. Beware ice under the snow, and children who don't have to go to school.

RIVER VALLEY. THIS INCLUDES THE AREAS OF DULUTH...CLOQUET
MOOSE LAKE...AND PINE CITY IN MINNESOTA...AS WELL AS
SUPERIOR...SOLON SPRINGS...AND SIREN IN NORTHWEST WISCONSIN.
* TIMING...SNOW WILL CONTINUE...AND BE HEAVY AT TIMES. THE MAIN
PERIOD OF ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED TONIGHT...WITH SNOW GRADUALLY
DIMINISHING THROUGH THE MORNING FRIDAY. THE SNOW WILL TAPER OFF
EVEN MORE FRIDAY AFTERNOON.
* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...WIDESPREAD SNOWFALL FROM 6 TO 8 INCHES WITH
AREAS IN EXCESS OF 12 INCHES ALSO POSSIBLE IN SPOTS. EXPECT THE
GREATEST TOTALS TO OCCUR IN NORTHWEST WISCONSIN...DECREASING TO
THE NORTHWEST.
* VISIBILITY...DOWN TO A QUARTER MILE AT TIMES...WITH WHITE OUT
CONDITIONS ALSO POSSIBLE AROUND LAKE SUPERIOR WHERE WINDS WILL
BE STRONGEST.
* WINDS...GUSTY NORTHEAST WINDS...INCREASING OUT OF THE NORTH LATE
TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY. EXPECT BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW. WINDS
WILL GUSTS TO 35 TO 40 MPH CLOSE TO LAKE SUPERIOR.
* IMPACTS...ROAD CONDITIONS WILL RAPIDLY DETERIORATE THIS
EVENING. THE COMBINATION OF HEAVY SNOW AND GUSTY WINDS WILL
MAKE THE FRIDAY MORNING COMMUTE HAZARDOUS.
