Hazel Mary Kiuttu
Hazel Mary Kiuttu, 95, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, Minn. She was born July 11, 1918, in Colburn, Wis., to Jacob and Kathleen (Cox) Guckenberg and graduated from Cloquet High School in 1936. Hazel worked as the office manager for Dr. Jack Tomhave for many years. She was a lifelong member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and volunteered for the school and church. She enjoyed traveling and especially hiking the North Shore trails.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Toivo Kiuttu; and two brothers, Howard and Leo Guckenberg.
She is survived by three nephews, Dave (June) Guckenberg, Jon (Ali) Guckenberg, and Leo Guckenberg Jr.; and one niece, Kathleen Sheff.
Visitation was held Monday, Jan. 13, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. A luncheon followed in the church social hall.
