According to the Carlton County Sheriff's Office, Michael Howard Norton, 43, of Duluth was injured when his bicycle was hit by a motor vehicle at the corner of county Highway 61 and Rolling Road near Esko about 11 a.m. The motorist didn't stop after hitting Norton, continuing eastbound on

Highway 61.

Norton was taken to St. Luke's hospital in Duluth, where he was listed in serious condition Monday afternoon.

Inattentive driving appears to be a factor in this crash, the sheriff's office said in a news release.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash, and anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at (218) 384-4185.
