Darell Monroe Johnson
Darell M. Johnson, 82, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, Minn. He was born Feb. 19, 1931, in Cloquet to John and Ethel (Hall) Johnson and graduated from Cloquet High School in 1949. Darell was a Korean War Army veteran. He was united in marriage to Dianne Stevens on May 1, 1954, in Cloquet. Darell worked as a supervisor for Potlatch Corporation for 39 years and was a member of the Potlatch Quarter Century Club. He was a member of the Cloquet Presbyterian Church. He was an avid reader and loved outdoors activities like hunting, fishing, cutting wood and gardening.
Darell was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Alan Johnson; and two sisters, Louise Blinn, and Lois Gronquist.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne; one son, Paul Johnson; two daughters, Debra (Steve) Coffey and Kathryn (Ed) Fuhs; one brother, Howard (Linda) Johnson; one sister, Betty (Myron) Evenson; four grandchildren, Sara, Daniel, Michelle and David; one great-grandson, Kayden; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Feb. 4, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet, followed by a luncheon in the fellowship room. Military flag presentation was provided by the Cloquet Honor Guard.
