CMH trustee earns Minnesota Hospital Association Certification
Nate Sandman, a trustee of Community Memorial Hospital, was honored July 8 for completing the Minnesota Hospital Association (MHA) board member certification program. Certifications were awarded at the MHA Summer Trustee Conference, held July 13-15 in Alexandria.
By participating in MHA's voluntary certification program, hospital trustees receive training on current health care trends; governance best practices; ethics; government regulations; patient safety; and quality. Participants undergo 35 hours of coursework, making Minnesota's initiative the most comprehensive in the nation.
"It takes a real commitment to attain this certification and Nate has volunteered many hours and days on behalf of CMH," said Rick Breuer, CEO/Administrator of Community Memorial Hospital. "Having a board of directors that truly understands the issues in health care today helps us better serve our patients and thrive as an organization. I am thankful for Nate and for all of our volunteer board members."
