Cloquet man injured in stabbing; suspect in custody
A 28-year-old Cloquet man was hospitalized with non-life-threatening wounds following a stabbing early Sunday outside a Cloquet bar.
A police officer came upon a fight on the east side of the The Jack, 1016 Cloquet Ave., at about 2 a.m. A male suspect, who was seen holding a knife, fled the scene on foot, according to a report from the Cloquet Police Department.
The suspect, a 37-year-old Sawyer man whose name was not released, was apprehended without incident a short while later. He is being held at the Carlton County Law Enforcement Center pending formal charges.
The victim was transported to a local hospital by ambulance, police said.
The case remains under investigation. Cloquet Police received assistance from the Carlton County Sheriff's department, the Fond du Lac Police Department and the Cloquet Area Fire District Ambulance Service.
