CHS announces Business Student of the Month
Cloquet Senior High School Business Department announces James Newgren has been selected the “Business Student of the Month” for February. Students who apply for this award are chosen based on their activities, work experience, business courses, grades earned, a letter of recommendation, and an essay written by the student.
Newgren, a senior at CHS, is a dedicated person who strives for excellence in his academics, extra-curricular activities, and community. He is on the varsity hockey team and also plays for the elite team Northern Wings. During the summer Newgren volunteers at a number of hockey camps and participates in the REACH mentoring program. His employer stated, “James is very responsible, always on time, hard-working, and trustworthy. We can always count on James.”
Newgren’s plan after high school is to attend Denver University-Daniels School of Business in Denver, Colo., to major in accounting and finance.
Newgren is the son of Randy and Christine Newgren.
Complimentary tokens/certificates awarded to the student are provided by Gordy’s Warming House, McDonald’s, Subway, Erbert and Gerbert’s, McDonald Rental, Premiere Theaters, Taco Johns/Steak Escape, and Subway.
A senior student chosen as “Business Student of the Month” will also be eligible for the Stowell Family Scholarship to be awarded in May.
