Caroline Fay Taylor Melin

Caroline Fay Taylor Melin, 78, of Brookston, Minn., passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014, in Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton, Minn. She was born Aug. 17, 1935, in Moose Lake, Minn., to Edward and Ida (Mattson) Taylor. She grew up in Sandstone, Minn. On Sept. 17, 1954, Caroline married Roy Melin, making their home and raising their family in Culver, Minn. Caroline served as the town clerk for Culver Township for many years. She was also a caregiver at Anderson Pine Grove Homes in Culver for more than 25 years.

Caroline was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy; son, Bradley; daughter, Patricia Smith; sisters, Hazel, Florence and Phoebe; and brother Norman.

She is survived by her children, Marsha Lundberg of Duluth, Minn., Thomas Melin of Hinckley, Minn., Beverly (Randy) Willeck and Barbara (Peter) Bober both of Brookston, John Melin of Culver, and Virginia Melin of Cloquet, Minn.; brother, Lyle (Marsha) Taylor of Sandstone; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Caroline's granddaughter Karen Couture and her fianc Ben Eldridge along with the staff at Inter-Faith Care Center for their loving and compassionate care.

Open House Celebration of Caroline's Life: Friday, May 16, from 4-6 p.m. at the Country Corner, 9497 Highway 2 in Brookston.
