CARLTON COUNTY NOTICE OF VACANCY
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
There is currently one vacancy on the Board of Adjustment. The Carlton County Board of Commissioners appoints members to the Carlton County Board of Adjustment for three year terms. The Board of Adjustment is vested with authority contained in MN Statues 2013, Chapter 394.27, Carlton County Zoning Ordinance #27, and the Board of Adjustment Rules and Bylaws approved by the Carlton County Board of Commissioners on February 19, 1985.
In general, the Board of Adjustment is the body established to:
hear appeals of decisions rendered by the zoning administrator;
interpret unclear provisions in the zoning ordinance;
decide on applications by landowners to permit buildings which “vary” from the zoning regulations.
The Board of Adjustment meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. The Board of Adjustment members receive a stipend of $65 per meeting and mileage reimbursement at the current county rate.
