The Boldt Company is announcing a leadership transition that affects its Minnesota business unit. Ron Hanson, executive vice president and general manager of Boldt's Minnesota operations, is retiring at the end of 2013. Shelly Peterson, formerly group manager of Boldt's Minnesota operations, will now serve as the group's vice president and general manager as Hanson transitions into his retirement.
These changes took place after an in-depth transition period and are a result of Boldt's career-pathing and succession-planning processes. Those processes have been developed and put in place to prepare individuals for next levels of responsibility and ensure those in leadership roles represent and instill in others Boldt's business practices, culture and values.
Hanson, who has had a successful, 28-year career at Boldt, is transitioning into retirement from his position as executive vice president and general manager of Boldt's Minnesota operations. Between now and his official retirement at the end of 2013, he will take an interim assignment as group president of Boldt's southern operations. Hanson has been central to the success of Boldt's Minnesota operations. Under Hanson's leadership, Boldt's Minnesota operations diversified its business and developed a strong presence in the oil and refinery market, in addition to growth in the healthcare and industrial markets.
"It has been a privilege to work for Boldt throughout my career and help grow the company through diversification and service to our customers," said Hanson. "Shelly Peterson's business experience and dynamic leadership style has achieved the very best for Boldt. Shelly is the best choice to lead Boldt's Minnesota operations. I will leave with great confidence that under Shelly's leadership Boldt's best days lie ahead."
Peterson is moving from group manager of Boldt's Minnesota operations to vice president and general manager of Boldt's Minnesota operations. Peterson, a third-generation construction professional, has been at Boldt for the past 18 years and has experience in many facets of Boldt's business. Peterson recently won the Northland News Center Woman in Leadership Award, was chosen to participate in the Blandin Community Leadership Program and has also been named "Volunteer of the Year" twice by the Cloquet Area Chamber of Commerce.
"I love what I do, work with great people and have a fantastic team -- Ron Hanson has done an outstanding job and I look forward to facilitating the continued growth of Boldt's Minnesota operations," Peterson said. "We will continue to bring our passion for what we do to each project and help our customers reach their goals through our innovative people, practices and processes."
