Blue Jean Ball has tremendous success thanks to you

Dear Editor,

The Cloquet Educational Foundation held its ninth annual Blue Jean Ball on Feb. 6. The event was a tremendous success and raised $20,000, which is more money than any previous Blue Jean Ball.

Our sincere thanks goes out to all the businesses and individuals who volunteer their time and provide donations for the live and silent auctions. Special thanks to the Fond du Lac Reservation, Black Bear Casino Resort and the Exchange Bakery for helping us with this successful event.

This year, former Cloquet students (The Jury Band) provided the music. Local dance group, the Cloquettes, also provided entertainment. Once again our legendary auctioneer, Lee Oling, entertained us while conducting the live auction. Lee's day job is helping Cloquet students as a counselor at Cloquet Senior High School.

All proceeds raised at the Blue Jean Ball will help to provide learning experiences for Cloquet students.

CEF grant funds provide opportunities that help children develop into healthy, productive, and responsible adults. Since 1989 the Foundation has granted more than $550,000 to local educational programs.
