Best Bets: Literary reading and traditional Irish music at Cloquet library
If you're more of a daytime celebrator of all things Irish, stop by the Cloquet Public Library, 320 14th St., Cloquet, starting at 10:30 a.m. for a literary reading and traditional Irish music.
Local Irish-American writer Seamas Cain will read from his poetic novel "The Dangerous Islands" and will be accompanied by musicians Mary Hagen and Linda Crumpton on Celtic harp and penny whistle.
Cain's book is a mix of genres and the story of an Irish American man from 1965-1998. Proceeds from sales of the book at the event benefit the library.
